Photography Gear + Tools I Use

This camera is a workhorse. I use for almost all my work.

Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens

This is my favorite lens. It’s flattering for beauty and fashion work. It’s also perfect for photographing beauty textures and details of faces.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens

This is my go to lens for everyday portraiture, travel, and lifestyle imagery. This focal length is closest to how the human eye perceives the world, so it’s very comfortable to use.

SanDisk Extreme Pro SD Cards

I use two of these cards with every shoot – one as my main card, and one as a backup. They both record and upload the images quickly.

Profoto B10 Plus OCF Flash Head

This light is perfect for studio and on location work. It’s light, small, and reliable. I can easily pack it into a backpack to bring on location to a shoot. My other favorite feature is the ability to plug it into the wall while I’m shooting in studio. This allows me to shoot for long hours in the studio without having to worry about charging or changing batteries. I can also change the settings – and even fire the flash – from an app on my phone. You can read more about why I love this light in my review here.

Profoto Air Remote TTL-N for Nikon

The main reason I got this transmitter is because it’s reliable and durable. My flash always goes off when it needs to. This transmitter is also convenient because I can control the power of the light, or even multiple lights, with the touch of a button.

Sturdy and reliable. I mostly use these for holding up lights, reflectors, and flags. I’ve also used them as a tripod for flat lay images, and to hang props or products.

Profoto OCF Beauty Dish (White, 24″)

This modifier is beautiful for portraiture and beauty work. It also folds up, making it easy to travel with.

Profoto 5′ RFi Octa Softbox

This modifier creates soft, beautiful light. I use it mainly for portraiture and fashion work.

Savage Seamless Paper

Strong, durable paper that comes in a variety of sizes, and a large variety of colors.

Phottix Saldo Backdrop Stand Kit 110”x126”

These stands are sturdy, and hold backgrounds up to 9.8 feet in width.

Alta Pro 2+ 263AP Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Video Pan Head

I feel confident putting my expensive camera on this tripod, knowing it will be safe. The legs are easily adjustable. The bar in the center also comes up and out horizontally, which is perfect for shooting flat lays.

Tether Pro Cables and Jerkstopper

These cords are used to tether my camera to my computer. This way I can see every little detail in the image, and adjust the lighting and styling as needed. This is also convenient when shooting with a team on site, since everyone can easily see how the images look. The jerk stopper helps prevent the cord from coming out of the camera, which helps to keep it from getting damaged. I have the 15 foot length to give me plenty of room to move.

Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge

Adobe software is industry standard. I mainly use Photoshop in conjunction with Capture One, which you can see below.

Capture One

This software is industry standard in professional photography studios. It’s similar to Lightroom, but more powerful.
